Composing and Sending Email

This article covers the full compose flow: addressing a message, writing the body, attaching files, saving drafts, and sending.

Before you begin

  • You need an active Serene Creations account with access to the Communications section.
  • Outbound email requires a verified sending domain configured in Resend. If your domain is not verified, messages will not send. See Website Integration Overview for Resend setup.

Opening a compose window

  1. Navigate to Communications in the portal sidebar.
  2. Select Compose (button at the top of the inbox panel, or the + icon in the sidebar rail).
  3. A compose panel opens as a drawer or overlay.

Addressing a message

To: Enter one or more recipient email addresses. Press Enter or Tab after each address to confirm it. An invalid format is flagged before you can send.

Cc: Select Add Cc to reveal the Cc field. Cc recipients receive the message and can see each other’s addresses.

Bcc: Select Add Bcc for blind copy recipients. Bcc recipients receive the message but are not visible to other recipients.

Subject: Enter a subject line. The subject appears in the recipient’s inbox and in your Sent folder.

Writing the body

The body field accepts plain text. Paste content or type directly.

Adding attachments

  1. In the compose panel, select Attach file (paperclip icon).
  2. A picker opens. You can:
    • Upload from your computer — select a local file.
    • Pick from Files — select a file already stored in your Files module. See Using the File Picker.
  3. The attachment appears below the body with its filename and size.
  4. To remove an attachment, select the × next to it.

Very large files should be shared via a Files module link rather than attached directly.

Saving a draft

To save your message without sending:

  1. Select Save draft in the compose panel.
  2. The compose window closes. The message is saved to Drafts.
  3. To return to a draft, navigate to Drafts, select the message, and choose Continue editing.

The compose window also auto-saves if you close the browser while composing.

Sending

When your message is addressed, has a subject, and has a body, select Send.

The portal sends the message via Resend and moves it to your Sent folder. If sending fails, an error banner shows the reason.
